Consumer, labor advocates flag Virginia AI bill

Consumer, labor and disability advocates are raising concerns that a Virginia bill that would regulate artificial intelligence systems used to make consequential decisions about people’s lives doesn’t go far enough.

The Center for Democracy and Technology and two disability rights groups warned recently that companies could sidestep Virginia’s proposed regulation “because of numerous loopholes and exemptions.”
