Data center growth in Va. spurs burst of legislation

With concerns mounting among constituents over quality of life, property values, water runoff and power usage, Virginia Sen. Danica Roem (D) has drafted five bills she says will help regulate and mitigate the effects of the exponential growth of data centers in her district outside Washington, D.C.

“Northern Virginia has more data centers than Silicon Valley and Los Angeles combined, times three,” Roem said in an interview with Pluribus News. “We are by far the world leader.”
