Delaware governor lets legal recreational marijuana become law

Delaware Gov. John Carney (D) announced Friday that he would let become law bills legalizing recreational marijuana and making possession of specific amounts legal for those over 21, despite reservations about the drug and the possible negative effect on the population.

Under legalization bills, known as House Bill 2, marijuana would be regulated and taxed for recreational use in much the same manner as alcohol. It also creates a framework for producing, manufacturing and selling marijuana in a legal recreational industry.
