Dem governors blast bill in Congress that aims to block climate change lawsuits

Climate superfund legislation has been enacted in two states and introduced in a dozen others.

Democratic governors are pushing back on a federal effort to preempt states’ ability to hold polluters responsible for climate change.

A letter signed by 10 governors urges the four top congressional leaders to reject legislation introduced by Republican lawmakers that would prevent lawsuits over climate change, including state climate superfund laws.
