Dems sue to block Paramount, Warner Bros. merger

Democrats allege the merger violates the Clayton Act.

A dozen Democratic attorneys general have filed suit in federal district court on Monday seeking to block a proposed mega-merger between Hollywood giants Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery, alleging the acquisition would limit competition in the entertainment marketplace.

The suit, filed in the Northern District of California, targets Paramount’s proposed $110 billion merger, the largest in Hollywood history. It alleges the merger violates the Clayton Act, which is meant to block mergers that lessen competition and create monopoly powers.
