Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Wednesday signed a substantial elections overhaul bill that will allow him to pursue the presidency without resigning his current office, just hours before he filed papers that mark the formal beginning of his bid for the White House.
DeSantis’s office said Wednesday the governor had signed 20 bills left over after the legislature wrapped up its work earlier this month, including the elections overhaul package. The office did not comment further on the bills he signed.
