Digital driver’s licenses gain traction in states

States are increasingly green-lighting digital driver’s licenses and IDs.

As more people use their smartphone as a digital wallet, nearly 30 states have implemented, begun to implement, or are piloting or studying a mobile driver’s license program, according to tracking by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators.
