Fla. House sends DeSantis broad illegal immigration bill 

It requires collecting immigration status during hospital registration and prohibits the recognizing of driver’s licenses that undocumented people were able to obtain in other states.

The Florida House gave final approval to a bill that takes the biggest swing at combating illegal immigration in any state this year.

The legislation, which the Senate passed last week and now heads to Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), makes it a felony to transport five or more undocumented persons, requires collecting immigration status in hospitals, and prohibits the recognizing of out-of-state driver’s licenses of undocumented people.
