Florida bans transgender care for minors

It becomes at least the 11th state this year to to do so.

Florida minors are now prohibited from receiving gender-affirming care, including reassignment surgeries and experimental puberty blockers, as the Sunshine State becomes the latest to target LGBTQ rights. 

“Here in the United States, you have a very, I would say, ideologically charged, small group of folks within medicine that are pushing these types of procedures on minors,” Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said at a Wednesday bill signing ceremony. “We think that that is wrong.”
