GOP governors answer Abbott’s call for border support

At least six have committed National Guard troops or other personnel.

Virginia on Wednesday became the latest state to commit National Guard troops or other personnel to assist with border security in response to a request from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R).

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) announced that he deployed 100 National Guard troops and 21 other support personnel for a month-long stint on the Texas border to help clamp down on fentanyl and other drug smuggling.
