GOP lawmakers push to ban abortion pills

Bills would create new criminal charges for possession, prescription or distribution of the medication used in most abortions.

Republican lawmakers in at least five states have filed legislation to cut off access to abortion-inducing drugs.

The bills in Indiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas would create new criminal charges for possession, prescription or distribution of the medication that accounts for the majority of abortions in the country.
