Govs pledge to train 1M workers for green-energy jobs by 2035

The aim is to open opportunities to a diverse workforce and ensure there’s a sufficient supply of skilled workers.

A coalition of governors who make up the U.S. Climate Alliance is promising to train 1 million workers in climate-related fields by 2035, a move supporters say will aid the country’s transition to a green-energy economy.

Called the Governor’s Climate-Ready Workforce Initiative, the apprenticeship programs are aimed at opening opportunities for good-paying jobs in emerging industries to a diverse workforce and ensuring there’s a sufficient supply of skilled workers to help advance the country’s climate goals.
