Hochul will sign aid-in-dying bill

It limits medication to only New York residents.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul will sign legislation allowing terminally ill state residents to end their lives after reaching a deal with state lawmakers, she said Wednesday.

The Democrat said she and legislative leaders had agreed on new language that will allow the terminally ill to receive prescriptions for life-ending medication after undergoing a mental health evaluation, a five-day waiting period and a physical evaluation by a physician.
