Kentucky’s Beshear wins re-election

Beshear’s campaign dramatically outspent his Republican rival to win a second term.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) on Tuesday secured a second term in office, fending off a challenge from Attorney General Daniel Cameron (R) in a race that centered on abortion rights even in a deeply conservative state.

With 80% of the expected vote in and Beshear leading 53.3% to 46.7%, the Associated Press projected Beshear would win.
