Lawmakers pump the brakes on ‘super speeders’

Bills across the country aim to require habitual offenders to install speed-limiting devices on their vehicles.

A campaign to crack down on so-called super speeders on America’s roads is spurring a wave of legislation to require habitual leadfoots to install speed-limiting devices on their vehicles.

Speed limiter measures were introduced or carried over this year in more than a dozen states across the country: Arizona, California, Georgia, HawaiiIllinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont and Wisconsin
