Lawmakers push for data center regulations amid AI boom

Around 100 bills have already been introduced.

State legislators have introduced around 100 bills aimed at regulating data centers this year, as tech companies expand the footprint of the facilities housing the computing power for artificial intelligence.

Bills are set to be considered in states including Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Vermont and Virginia.
