It was a little like a Perry Mason moment, according to Maryland Del. Andre Johnson (D), when a Baltimore Gas & Electric official could not tell him at a hearing earlier this year whether the private plane belonging to the utility’s parent, Exelon, was paid for with ratepayer funds.
“I asked the utility company if they have a private jet, and how that was being paid for,” Johnson said in an interview. “And it was like a nuclear bomb going off in the committee room, because I don’t think that they wanted that information to get out.”
