Maryland to deploy drones for medical deliveries to rural areas

Maryland will test using drones to deliver medical supplies to rural areas under a program announced Tuesday by Gov. Wes Moore (D), the latest of several state programs experimenting with new ways to deliver life-saving care to underserved communities. 

The state will use a $1.76 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to launch a pilot program servicing remote areas off the state’s Eastern Shore.
