Minn. adopts ‘strongest’ right-to-repair law

It allows consumers to have their digital devices serviced by independent repair shops or do the fixes themselves.

Consumer advocates say a “right to repair” measure enacted Wednesday in Minnesota will be the most comprehensive of its kind in the nation.

The “Digital Fair Repair Act,” which was included in an omnibus commerce appropriations bill, will allow consumers to sidestep authorized dealers and have their digital devices serviced by independent repair shops or do the fixes themselves.
