Minnesota approves minimum pay for rideshare drivers

The agreement came just before the legislative session’s end.

Minnesota is poised to provide minimum compensation for rideshare drivers under a bill supporters say could be a model for other states.

Lawmakers reached a deal on language over the weekend that includes paying rideshare drivers $1.28 per mile and 31 cents per minute, with a $5 minimum per ride. Both chambers approved the measure late Sunday, shortly before the legislature’s deadline to adjourn.
