Minnesota clean energy permit reform bill advances

Several states are aiming to ramp up how much clean power electricity providers generate.

A bill that advanced out of a Minnesota House committee would speed up the permitting process for building clean energy projects, which supporters argue will help the state meet its goal of moving to 100% clean energy by 2040.

The measure was “laid over” by the Climate and Energy Finance and Policy Committee last week for possible inclusion on a larger package. A Senate companion measure has also been introduced.
