Minnesota votes to end Medicaid coverage for undocumented adults

Minnesota lawmakers voted Monday to end state-funded Medicaid coverage for undocumented adults, making it the second left-leaning state this year to curtail health care coverage for undocumented residents as budgets tighten. 

Some 17,000 people are set to lose coverage under the measure, which was key to a budget deal struck between Gov. Tim Walz (D) and legislative leaders. Democrats control the Senate, but Republicans who control the House have made ending coverage for undocumented adults a top legislative priority.
