N.Y. lawmaker wants AI disclosure after chatbot false claims

A New York lawmaker wants generative AI systems to come with a warning that the information they produce may be false.

Assemblyman Clyde Vanel (D) announced legislation Tuesday in response to an incident last month when Meta’s AI chatbot invented false stories about New York legislators having previously been accused of sexual harassment.
