N.Y. unveils sweeping AI legislative agenda

Hochul announced efforts for child protections and workforce training.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) on Tuesday proposed a range of responses to the threats and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence’s swift emergence into daily life.

In her State of the State speech and an accompanying 129-page policy book, Hochul touted AI’s potential to transform the economy and society while also vowing to protect against its misuse.
