Neb., S.C. fail to pass abortion bans

It was a surprising outcome given the partisan lean of both states.

Republicans in both Nebraska and South Carolina failed to pass abortion bans Thursday, a surprising outcome given the heavy partisan lean of both states.

The party came up one vote short in Nebraska despite pressure from the governor, while women from both parties in the South Carolina Senate joined forces to help sink a House-passed bill once again.
