Newsom signs child vlogger protections

The governor said young influencers are being exploited the same way child actors were in old Hollywood.

California is now the third state after Illinois and Minnesota to require parents to set aside earnings for their children who appear in online content known as vlogs.

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced Thursday that he signed into law two measures aimed at protecting child vloggers and influencers from financial exploitation.
