Nuclear power is on the table as states scramble for clean, reliable energy

Around 250 bills aimed at advancing the power source were introduced this year.

States are increasingly exploring nuclear power’s ability to meet both electricity demand and climate change goals, even as critics raise concerns about costs to ratepayers.

Around 250 bills aimed at advancing the power source were introduced this year, according to the Nuclear Energy Institute. Those include measures in Alabama, California, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, New Jersey and Washington.
