Pharmacy benefit managers face tighter restrictions in Florida

It unanimously passed the House and Senate and comes amid national scrutiny of drug price middleman.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed a bill Wednesday that will tighten regulations on the middlemen that negotiate pharmacy drug prices.

The so-called Prescription Drug Reform Act, which passed both chambers unanimously, comes as state and federal lawmakers across the political spectrum seek to overhaul the pharmacy benefit manager industry as part of a broader attempt to address soaring drug prices.
