Candidates, campaigns and their outside allies will spend a record amount of money on political advertising ahead of what will be the most expensive election in American history, according to two new reports that shed light on America’s increasingly fragmented media markets.
Political advertising spending is expected to jump almost 30% from the last presidential election in 2020, to $12.3 billion this year, according to projections from Insider Intelligence, a New York-based industry analyst.
