Poll: Miss. Gov leads Dem rival

Reeves’s lead is fueled by a big edge among men, and a narrow gap among independents.

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves (R) leads his Democratic challenger by 8 percentage points a month before the general election, a poll released Thursday found.

The Mason-Dixon Poll, conducted for the Magnolia Tribune, found Reeves ahead of Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley (D) 51%-43%. That is in line with, though slightly tighter than, the 11-point margin Reeves held in a Mississippi Today/Siena College poll released early last month.
