Property tax increase response faces test at ballot box

A tense fight over how to respond to rising property tax bills is underway in Colorado, where voters face competing ballot measures from sponsors on the left and right. 

Colorado is one of four states, along with Kansas, Montana and Wyoming, where conservatives have proposed ballot measures that would limit property tax growth. It’s the only state so far where such a proposal has made it onto a ballot.
