Public school chaplains? The idea is gaining steam

Red states across the country are considering it after Texas passed a law last year.

The Florida Senate is set to vote on final passage of a bill that would let public schools hire volunteer chaplains, a move being considered in red states across the country.

Along with Florida, legislative committees advanced measures in Georgia, Indiana and Utah, while legislation was also introduced in Alabama, Iowa, Mississippi and Nebraska. Texas enacted a controversial chaplain law last year.
