Red state Dems protest as majority rolls

Their loud efforts have spotlighted the frustration and limitations of minority parties.

Progressive lawmakers in red states have refused to play nice this session.

Democrats such as Tennessee Reps. Justin Jones and Justin Pearson, Montana Rep. Zooey Zephyr and Nebraska Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh have pushed boundaries, led protests and made the national news as they’ve tried to block bills they loathe and force their Republican colleagues to acknowledge their point of view.
