School phone bans go viral

More than half of states have taken action within the past year, a new report finds.

The push to get phones and other devices out of classrooms has taken off, resulting in a “wave of legislation” across the country, according to a report released Tuesday.

The Parents Television and Media Council, a California-based nonprofit, said in its report that the previous 10 months have produced laws or policies in more than half of states.
