Shelby County Board returns expelled Tenn. Dem back to House

The Shelby County Board of Commissioners voted to send Rep. Justin Pearson (D) back to the Tennessee House following Pearson’s expulsion last week, after he and two others led an anti-gun violence protest on the House floor that the GOP majority said violated chamber rules.

The 7-0 vote Wednesday returns Pearson to his seat, representing portions of Memphis. The board voted without debate.
