A trio of Southern states are moving to end diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives at public schools and colleges, joining the Trump administration-led effort to block diversity programs across government and even in the private sector.
Lawmakers in Georgia are likely to advance legislation to ban DEI policies in schools and colleges on Friday, the final day of the state’s legislative session. The Senate approved the measure, which would prohibit Georgia secondary schools, charter schools receiving state funding, and colleges and universities from activities or employment policies that promote DEI, on Wednesday.
