State budget talks going down to the wire

Most states begin fiscal 2024 on Saturday.

It is the 11th hour of budget negotiations in states across the country.

Lawmakers in Massachusetts, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania have yet to strike a deal before their new fiscal year starts Saturday, while governors of 10 states where fiscal 2024 also starts on July 1 have yet to approve or veto budgets.
