States prep for flying taxi future

The launch of advanced air mobility committees come as companies race to develop the technology.

States are racing to prepare for air taxi technology, with the flying car concept popularized by the 1960s cartoon The Jetsons driving closer to reality.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) recently signed legislation to create an Advanced Air Mobility advisory panel. At least eight other states — Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah and West Virginia — also boast advanced air mobility committees or study groups, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.
