Supreme Court will hear challenges to Fla., Texas social media laws

It will accept two cases brought by the tech industry but limit the scope.

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to review the constitutionality of a pair of social media anti-censorship laws passed in Florida and Texas in 2021, the outcome of which could have implications for state efforts to regulate online platforms.

The court announced Friday that it will accept two cases brought by the tech industry challenging the laws but will limit its review to two questions raised by U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar in an amicus brief filed with the court last month.
