Tech watchdog groups brace for closing policy fight in Calif.

They pointed to two new super PACs announced last week to fight AI regulations.

Tech accountability groups are celebrating the survival of several bills in California after a key legislative deadline last week, but they are also girding for major fights with the tech industry before lawmakers adjourn on Sept. 12.

The nonprofit advocacy groups previewed the next two weeks in Sacramento in a virtual news conference Tuesday, highlighting the policies for which they are advocating and portraying themselves as underdogs against the deep-pocketed tech giants.
