Texas passes bill allowing over-the-counter ivermectin sales

The House and Senate approved it during a 30-day special session.

Texas would become the fifth state to allow pharmacists to dispense the anti-parasitic drug ivermectin without a prescription under legislation the House passed Wednesday during a special legislative session.

The bill must be given final approval by the Senate before the end of the 30-day session, which started on Aug. 15.
