Veteran legislator pens how-to for new members

A new book from a veteran Washington State lawmaker aims to help bend the learning curve for rookie legislators just beginning their public service career.

In an interview with Pluribus News, Washington Senate President Pro Tem Karen Keiser (D) said she began the book during the pandemic, when she realized that working remotely meant the new crop of first-time lawmakers would not have the benefit of learning about the complicated institution they had just joined.
