Virginia Dems outline early ’26 agenda

Redistricting, a minimum wage increase and abortion rights are at the top of the party’s agenda.

Two weeks after sweeping races for statewide offices and expanding control of the House of Delegates, Virginia Democrats are rolling out their early legislative priorities as they prepare to reclaim full control of Richmond.

With Democrat Abigail Spanberger set to succeed Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin in January, House Democrats said Monday that the first six bills they are pre-filing for 2026 were all vetoed by Youngkin earlier this year.
