Virginia Dems push to expand House majority

If they also win the governorship, the party would have total control of Richmond.

Virginia Democrats are aiming to pad their one-seat majority in the House of Delegates when voters head to the polls next week, targeting Republican-held seats around Washington, D.C., Richmond and Hampton Roads.

Republicans are defending seven of the 10 swing districts on the map, according to the Virginia Public Access Project.
