Virginia GOP embraces early, absentee voting

A coordinated effort is being led by Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s PAC to help hold the state House and flip the Senate.

With a razor-thin margin separating control of the Virginia legislature, Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) and the state GOP launched a program to encourage supporters to vote early, a departure from the suspicion cast on the practice by party officials after former President Donald Trump’s 2020 loss.

“To take us to the next level, I need your early vote this year,” Younkin said in a video announcing Secure Your Vote Virginia.
