What’s in Minnesota’s climate and energy omnibus spending package

It would provide over $1 billion in new spending, establish a green bank and require that the state hit zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Minnesota House Democrats passed an omnibus climate and energy budget bill that would provide over $1 billion in new spending and includes a slew of party priorities, including establishing a green bank and requiring that the state hit zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Other provisions in the package include a series of restrictions on PFAS, a group of man-made chemicals associated with a series of ailments, found in everything from food packaging, cookware, clothing and firefighting foam used by the military.
