Where efforts are underway to stop springing forward

States are considering legislative solutions to the biannual hassle of changing their clocks, as most of the United States moves ahead one hour Sunday to begin daylight saving time.

California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington formed a working group in January to propose legislation in the neighboring states to make standard time permanent. Lawmakers in New York and Virginia want to make daylight saving time permanent.
