Youngkin proposes TikTok ban for Va. minors

It’s the latest effort by state officials to address potential harms associated with social media use.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) proposed sweeping new restrictions on social media companies, including a ban on TikTok for minors.

“I’m announcing that I will introduce legislation to restrict youth access, those under 18, to TikTok,” Youngkin said Thursday. “Full stop, we will introduce the bill.”
